Membership

Membership of the UK.SDMAG is structured in the following ways:

Provisional

This level if free and open to all martial arts and self defence clubs. This is the level held by all new ,members pending documentation. Once passed provisional members will automatically be awarded the Associate membership or relevant membership level

Associate members

This level is free and open to all martial arts and self defence clubs.The criteria is that a public liability policy of a minimum of £2million pounds must exist and the instructor must hold a valid first aid certificate and be CRB cleared

Full members

This level is free and open to martial arts and self defence clubs where the chief instructor (or instructor holding the membership) is 3rd Dan and above or holds an equivalent amount of experience within the security, policing or military. Qualifications are also taken into account.

Fellow Members

This level is free and open to martial arts and self defence clubs where the chief instructor (or instructor holding the membership) is 5th Dan and above. Qualifications and experience are also taken into consideration.

Membership Benefits

• Public liability cover: 5 million cover level, professional indemnity up to 2 million £95 per annum (rates may vary and are subject to a full quotation)
• Self Defence Instructor training and Certification (from £500) through an approved training centre
• Professional accreditation and endorsement: A membership licence, use of logo on your website and stationery and an endorsement from the UK self defence and martial arts guild.* (Subject to application and licencing fee. Licensing is separate from membership)
• A listing on the website
• Access to training materials and ongoing training and development.
